This step is a safety item for us and a convenience. It will be nice at anchorage if the boat is pitching. With this step getting from or to the dingy will be much safer. The stern steps would not work well in a pitching situation we believe.
Note:
Rarely have we not used the stern steps with the dinghy. The Edison step has come in handy at the dock and for the paddleboard.
Also at a dock with out and stairs this will be a good means of getting on and off the boat. We have a folding step stool but it is a reah with the foot to get off.
