Rule 2000 bilge pump replacement and hose repair - 2020

We are replacing our Rule 2000 bilge pump while anchored here in Zihuatanejo.
February 2020 - We are currently anchored in Zihuatanejo Mexico

The Rule 2000 bilge pump was/is shooting a stream
of water out of its side. We have stated this in a previous post.
You can see the water shooting out the side in this video.
We pulled out the Rule 2000 bilge pump and took the bottom off
then unscrewed the base. There seemed to be nothing wrong with it.??
A couple other small projects got attention while we replaced the old Rule 2000 bilge pump.
First off, Debbie labeled the wires going to the Terminal Block. We used the number labels we had purchased a long time ago for this.
Getting the pump in and out is not that easy.
It just gets by the transmission and shaft and only at a certain angle.
On the pvc pipe is the Rule 2000 bilge pump, then the flipper so it will turn on when the water gets high enough and then the bilge alarm in case the water gets too high.
We removed the old Rule 2000 bilge pump from the pvc pipe and replaced it with a new one. Debbie did the rewiring on it. This shows the old pump with the stainless steel hose clamps holding it on.

We purchased the new Rule 2000 bilge pump at SYS
 in Paradise Village MarinaPuerto Vallarta)

Debbie wiring up the new one.
This hose junction was another project we wanted to do. It has been leaking and so it needed some attention. We took it apart and cleaned the area.
The plastic hose was split so we added some pipe joint compound and then lots of wraps of electrical tape and a couple of hose clamps. That stopped that leak😀 There is no real pressure going into the hose. Bilge water just passes through it. But wait, we found another leak that we must have just created!

Debbie doing "bilge yoga" aka putting some epoxy on the hole in the hose.
We tested the epoxy on the plastic of another hose we had,
similar to the bilge one and it seemed to adhere ok.
We looked all over Zihuatanejo for this kind of hose and 1 1\8 th inch but no luck. It is like vacuum cleaner hose. Once the epoxy dries overnight, we'll wrap it with electrical tape to make sure it is sealed and doesn't leak.
