The front of our ("Stack Pack" type) sail cover reengineered.- 2019

Debbie has re-engineered the front of our ("Stack Pack" type) sail cover. Now she is doing the fastener work to finish it off.
Debbie has finished the female side. She used a Common Sense®Eyelet Hole Cutter to make the holes there. Now she is securing the DOT® Twist‑Lock Fastener to the the male side with a Sailrite®Snap Fastener Deluxe Installation Tool and the Barry King Mallet Hammer.
November 2019 - Currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
In the front of the mast the sail cover ("Stack Pack" type) attaches to the rest of the sail cover by DOT® Twist‑Lock Fasteners that are on each side of the sail cover.  On the bow end there is a piece of Sunbrella that wraps around the mast and attaches to the other side.
This piece of Sunbrella we usually remove when sailing and/or at anchor.
The reason is, while sailing this part of the cover is in the way a bit for raising to main. Also it is in the way of reefing the main. We do not have these lines lead aft for a few reasons. Lastly, it is in the way of the Whisker Pole. Anyway, this is fine while sailing but at anchor we also keep this cover off because the Whisker Pole is used to hold our floppier stopper (MagmaRock N Roll Stabilizer).
While the cover is off at anchor the sun is beating down on the forward
section of the sail as it sits in the Stack Pack.
To fix this we decided to cut the section of the cover in half. Then hem it up so there are two parts. Then Debbie put twist fasteners on the section in front of the mast running up and down so the two pieces could be one again. Now we can raise and lower the Whisker Pole by undoing the twist fasteners and leaving the cover in place, thus it protects the sail while we are at anchor. Now we anchor a lot so this does matter to us. Another nice feature is that this piece connects directly to the "stack pack" so we don't have to store it separately.
Debbie is marking holes to punch.
Debbie is using the Revolving Hole Punch to make holes for the dot fasteners.
Ok all done but for removing that piece of blue tape😁

Debbie took a tuck on each side of the front cover to make it fit better.
The Whisker Pole is up inside the cover here so you can see
how the pole can be ahy where and we can still have the cover on.

Muy Bien! (Very good!)
