Puerto Vallarta: Dia de Los Muertos Parade - 2019

Puerto Vallarta knows how to honor the dead during the Dia de Los Muertos Parade.  It left the main cemetery and followed a route to the Malecon.  We attended the festivities with our boating friends Brad and Darlene.

Us, not dead!
This park is Plaza de Armas, along the route.
We found many pictures made of sawdust, colored sand and figurines.
Items in each "alter" are things the dearly departed would like to have
 if/when they came back.

The malecon was decorated with paper mache Catrina statues
 from businesses around the city.
One of the fancier ones!

One of the prettier ones!

There was a face-painting table where artists
painted people in the traditional "look".

In the parade, one of the paper mache Catrina's "walking".
Los Abuelos marching in the parade.

This is where we ate at Cheeky Monkeys on the top two floors.

Traditional attire by some parade entrants.

Children riding on the front hood of the car - a favorite thing for them to do.

Everyone enjoyed this cultural event!!
