Dome light installed for above-the-stove cook hood in galley for night passages - 2019

The dome light that we had under the cook hood on the stern side (left) was only a white light. The forward side (right) we had previously replaced. We had ordered a new white\red light and now we installed it. This is quite nice now. We plan on a three night/four day passage coming up from Puerto Vallarta to Zihuatanejo and this will come in handy.
February 2019 - We are currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
Ok ready for some night sailing!
This original fixture we had previously replaced the bulb
with a LED light but it is only white😣
Some tools of the electrical worker😊
The old one is removed. It took two of us, as Debbie unscrewed the flathead screw and I put downward pressure on the fixture so the screw would unscrew. Cut the wires and then stripped them.
Testing placement.
We (Debbie) put electrical butt connectors on the cook hood wires
and then we tested the light just to make sure.
Drilling up through the Stainless-Steel cooktop was not fun because of limited space and the drill wanted to "walk". Not much room to bang a dent so the drill bit would not walk. Anyway, we got it done and now to enjoy the night red light. We wear head lamps but it is nice to have red lights above the stove as we have found out.
