We are now all cleared into Mexico and can raise the Mexican flag! Debbie jest sent off and email to Lindsey our daughter by Sail Mail because the Wi-Fi at the marina stinks. We will go to a Internet Cafe today to post a few messages.
Today we changed the
oil in the Beta Marine 38 hp engine, filter and air filter and checking out the bolts
for tighten etc. We drained the Racor filters of water and replaced one (#1)
and cleaned the sea strainer.
We want to service
the gear box but we do not have any documentation on it?? Guess that was an
over site. The Beta has a pump to get the oil out but the tranny (gear box)
will need a pump and hose to get it out. Mike said he had on we could use on
Wianuskewin. We went to a hardware store and picked up a container to put the
old oil in. Somehow and not surprising the one gallon gas can we had got left
behind? We did find some gear box info and will service it in Mazatlan.
Yesterday we walked
to the Baja beach party and then came back for a nice rest in the cockpit.
There was a nice breeze and it was nice to just sit.
We well get into posting
all the system info for what worked and hat broke (not much) soon.
Our crew could not take the 8pm to 5am karioki music and so
they abandoned ship and got a hotel room.
Our Mermaid Marine Air (HVAC) is
working fine when it really counts here in Cabo San Lucas. We sleep in AC comfort with
the doors closed so no noise, it is quiet!
If we had the other unit instated they could have too but it
was not to be as we need to depart. It will happen some time, manana J.
We will be adding some tips and useful info for the Haha soon.
