Baja Ha Ha -Turtle Bay, anchorage, beach party, fuel, showers, cantina etc. - 2012

With AIS on the Garmin 740 chart plotter.

The course to Turtle Bay(TB) was in from the south. It was not a problem as we approached from the south at day light with Debbie at the helm. Debbie and I had the head sets on and I was at the bow. We found our spot and dropped the 45 lb CQR anchor. The CQR set right off and we laid down the 3/8 chain. We were on the hook! The wind that night picked up to over 20 knots and some said 35 but we only saw 20 the time we looked. The AirBreeze wind generator did not put out any amps so the red led said on the bottom of it. We must have wired it up wrong when we replaced the batteries or it does not like the AGM batteries and the way it is wired. Not a big deal as we have plenty of amps with the batteries most topped off all the time.
 Note:
We had to bring the AirBreeze wind generator back to the states to get it repaired under warranty.

We decide before going on the Baja Ha Ha that we would not use our dingy. We did not want to have it on the davits at sea and did not want to have to load the outboard on and off etc. We decided on panga rides as they would be fun and we would support the local economy. It turned out to be a good decision. The rides were fun and always available and the panga drivers were having a blast taxing us haja’ers around the anchorage.

We got fuel here as we burned up about a half tank. It was $3 something gallon. Easy to get and they came out and fueled us up.
