Settee wood restored fo under sette and covers replaced - 2012

This project was finished before we left on the Baja Ha Ha 10-29-12.

November 2012 - Currently at Marina Kona Kai  Shelter Island San Diego, CA

The settee project needed to get done so we could use the double fold out berth and take the boards we had cut out with us. No place to store them they needed to go back.

First we had to cut a bunch of 2" strips of marine plywood to make brackets for the wood to sit on.

We had cut out the wood so we could have access to the areas below for installing batteries and the water maker. We had done this a long time ago. It did not affect anything but the use of the settee as a double bed. Now that we are leaving we wanted that option and if not we would have to leave the pieces of wood we curt out behind, this would make do this at a later time much much more difficult.

We routered the edges so they would not be harmful to your skin when digging around in there and removing the wood for access again the brackets would be user friendly.

You can see the old wet cell batteries.

One side finished and back to original. You can see the new AGM batteries. We finished off the other side and are good to go!
