Cabo San Lucas, noise is a lot different than the Shelter Island San Diego, CA noise.
When we pulled into the Cabo San Lucas, harbor it looked like a port you would see in China. There was a lot of activity with pangas and sport fishing boats coming and going along with jet skis and tour boats etc. Lots of noise from all the activity a sensory overload!
There is at least few miles of beach near the harbor entrance and some have bars, this is where the cruise ships hang out. There are water taxi's that run to these hotel bars from harbor ect.
After sitting here in
the cockpit for a few days, off and on, I realize the noise is a happy good
noise.
For instance on Sheller Island at our Kona Kai Marina there were lots of dogs - barking dogs, lots of
barking. There was lots of sanding noise from electric sanders. There were helicopters
from the North Island Navy base and jet fighters. There was not much airport
noise but some from the commercial airport. There were train whistles a lot
from downtown San Diego trains. There also were a whole lot of sirens every day
from emergency vehicles going out to Point Loma. Even the paddle boarders going
by had to shout to each other to talk creating more noise.
All in all not necessarily good noises.
Here there is not noise
from one airplane or helicopter yet. What a relief. There are NO barking dogs!
The crews on the sport fishing boats are singing and
laughing and playing music. They wash the boats every day it seems and have
lots of fun. They can dock these boats like the pros - they are showing off as
they do it.
The other noise is
music, lots of music. I must say this is a happy place with lots of happy
people. This has been a good place to be although we are looking for less of
any noise and activity.
Great to see that you made it there in one piece! Have a great time as you explore the coastal routes down south! Fair winds and following seas!
