Our shade screen for the stern of the cockpit was originally made for a tent type cover we had made for the boat. Then we got a Bimini. The shade screen did not fit the fasteners so we put some new holes in the shade screen and bingo it worked. It just looked funky.

This last couple weeks Debbie did some sewing and this is one item she fixed. She removed the top of the shade screen with all the holes for the fasteners that are on the Bimini and shortened the shade screen so as to better match up with the cockpit and Bimini. She cut sides for a better fit and put some binding tape on the sides and bottom. Then she put a new top piece on the shade screen.
One evening this week in the garage we put the new fastener holes in the shade screen.
Now for the fitting this weekend.
This is the shade screen hacked to fit the Bimini with the long sides and extra holes at the top.
I had bought some more shade screen material on an impulse buy for the side windows. It was too short. So... to save my as… I was looking for some place to use it. Eventually there is always a project I can come up with if I try hard enough. Sitting in the cockpit one day as winter was approaching it was decided that we could use a shade screen on the side of the cockpit as the sun was just too hot and bright. Now that is a use for the piece I bought. Must have been thinking that way in the back of my mind and that is why I got the piece too short hugh.
So Debbie sewed ip up and we will fit it and then add some canvas strips with fasteners. We have used Velcro on our Catalina for this type of stuff but it is hard to sew and does not really hold up that well.
