The pier being built is part of a malecon that is also being built. It seems it will have a boat launch ramp and another spot will have some boat docks. Maybe for the launch ramp or fishermen or? Anyway, not big enough to be a marina, per se. They paved the main road through town all the way to the malecon. There looks like a men's and ladies' restroom building there also. Also another building for ??.

They are working 24 hours a day 7 days a week!
One of Debbie's favorite birds!
This dinghy is from s/v Between the Sheets, anchored near us.
For now this is not a bad place to tie up the dinghy. Just past the pangas. No need to worry about running aground at low tide. Long bow line and climb up the rocks.
This dinghy is from s/v Sailor's Run (Jeff and Debbie) anchored in front of us.
Up a-ways there are these docks and pilings with a space cut out of the wall. You can tie up here but need to "walk the plank".
This is at the end of the malecon where the boat launch ramp is and the entrance from the main road to town.
This dinghy is from s/v Baja Fog (John and Monique) who also had the passengers of s/v Jazz - whose boat is still in Barra and they crewed on m/v Impulse. They pulled in after us...the tide went further out so we had to get around them in order to leave.
Heading back at low tide. Lots of shallow spots. Hug the rocks.
Had to get out of the dinghy and lift it up to put up the DaNard Dinghy Wheels
wheels. As you can see it is shallow and muddy. The wheels down were helping prevent us from spinning the prop on a run-aground.
The channel definitely needs a dredge!!
Thank you Chip for getting us out of that channel - it was heroic!
Picture came from mayor's web site.
