Our ShurFlo Smart Sensor 4.0 GPM Extreme Series fresh water pump quit - 2017

It is hard to see any real damage to the "Drive Assembly" (above) on the ShurFlo Smart Sensor 4.0 Extreme Series pump.  We have a spare ShurFlo Smart Sensor 4.0 Extreme Series pump. which we replaced the leaking one with. Now to re-build the leaking one.

I do not think the  ShurFlo Smart Sensor 4.0 GPM Extreme Series pump is made any more. There still is the ShurFlo Smart Sensor 5.7 GPM Extreme Series pump.

 It is nice to have this house sit in Chatsworth, San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles as they have a nice work bench in the garage.

We are currently house sitting in Pacific Beach, San Diego CA

 It was recommended by SHURflo that we replace the Drive Assembly (94-670-00). if the pump is leaking. If the pump is still pumping and only leaking then the Valve Assembly (94-669-00). does not need replacing. Also to clean up the Valve Assembly (94-669-00). with mild soap and a brush so we used a tooth brush and cleaned it all up.

 New  Drive Assembly (94-670-00) purchased.

 

 All put back together.

 Except for one screw...I lost it. I spilled the screws and one got away. It was to the very end part which I did not even have to have apart! So we will find on the s\v Elegant'sea in our SS screw collection and put in on the pump.

 Ready for action when the current pump goes out. 

And yet another part checked off the US buy list for the next cruising season on s\v Elegant'sea!
