Anchored in Chamela, Helping a Local Boy adrift - 2013

Early January 2013 - Bahia Chamela (Perula Bay)
Finally we were able to dinghy in today as the swells calmed down enough to get in to the town. We were in search of WiFi and some groceries. Once back on the boat and considering going in for a swim, we noticed a little boy in a swim tube as he got taken way out past the swim area with the wind\current. He was close to our boat so we asked him, in Debbie's best Spanish, if he was ok.
He said no so we asked him if he needed some help - still in Spanish - and he did so we got in our Achilles LSI-310E dinghy, rowed out to him and got him into our dingy and tied his swim tube behind us. Chip rowed and we tried to comfort him as he was very upset. His name is Brian. We looked for his family on the beach then he saw his dad swimming out toward us. We caught up to him and Brian got back into the water with his dad (and tube). They were both very appreciative. We hope he doesn't get into too much trouble when he goes to shore!!
Note:
His dad would have never reached him as the wind was blowing him across the water swiftly.
