Rule buzzer verses home siren test - 2011

July 2011 - Marina Cortez San Diego, CA
We changed out the RULEBilge Pump High Water Alarm siren for the home alarm siren.
The home alarm we have left over from a garage we had that we kept our Harley in by the beach. It is much louder and sounds like Debbie says “more urgent”. We may at some point install the home alarm on the boat as it worked well on the garage. If we do and use the same siren then we would need to install an LED for the bilge so we would know which alarm is going off. That is down the alarm road a bit though.
When we got the RULEBilge Pump High Water Alarm we added a switch to it. That way you can kill the noise of the alarm and then fix the problem without all the drama of the alarm going off continuously. So looking back the only thing we used from the Rule bilge alarm package was the float. That you could buy separately. The switch is a little funky so and we have I think a SS push pull switch in our storage, if not we will buy one and replace the plastic one we are using now.
Note:
We later installed the SS push pull switch for the alarm which is handy because it is so loud. Nice to check things out after turning off the alarm. 😅
