Garhauer Outboard motor lift - setup - top - 2011

Debbie got the Garhauer outboard motor lift (OBML) bottom pole cut. She had about 10 inches cut off the bottom of it.
July 2011 - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor IslandSan Diego, CA

At Benchmark Custom Welding (BCW) Mathew cut the piece for free. It was nice of him to do that. He also gave us back the piece that was cut off. This may come in handy if there is a need to raise it again which we doubt but until it is tried and true it is nice to have the option of changing it without a new SS pipe purchase.
Today Debbie is taking the top part of the OBML to Benchmark Custom Welding to get it cut down. We need the top where the cam cleat is to fit a bit under the bimini. The end with the blocks can be higher than the bimini. The bimini hangs out over the stern some which is great for cockpit comfort but not great for stern engineering 😀
The blue tape marks the cut off spot
We first wanted to get the bottom piece cut off and then measure for the top part. It was hard trying to measure both pieces at once.
