We just had Dawn Rigging fix our Harkin traveler line. The line was originally spliced by Downwind Marine in San Diego but the splice is now stiff and too big to go through the sheave at the other end.
February 2025 ⛵ Chip & Debbie 💑 curently in Marina de La Paz, ⛱️ La Paz BCS (Baja), Mexico 🇲🇽
That makes the line bunch up and so harder to use. We need to clear the line up so we can move the traveler which takes time and under load it is not always easy. Not good for sail handling. All fixed with a smaller splice which is whipped.
Temporary lines to hold boom.
Old long splice with big eye.
New short splice, whipped with small eye.
