Added check valve and accumulator tank to fresh water system 2025

Today we purchased a bronze check valve for our fresh water system project. It is 3/4 inch so we are reducing it to 1/2 inch for our water lines. This will go in our cold water line just before the hotwater tank.

We have been getting hot water in our cold water. This should fix the problem. The best solution is an expansion tank for the hot water side but so far we have not found a 2 gal expansion tank here in La Paz.
We also purchased a Jabsco accumulator tank to smooth out the water flow. We need to adjust the bladder inside to 32 psi but we can not find our tire gauge. We have the bicycle pump and somewhere have the gauge...we use it for pumping up our DaNard dingy wheels. Anyway, tomorrow.

Update:
Our boat neighbor had a bicycle pump and it worked for adding air into the accumulator tank bladder.  We pumped air into the bladder and set the air psi to 32 pounds as suggested by SurFlow who makes our water pump.  By putting in the check valve, which we should have had in the cold water line, it solved the hot water mixing with the cold. By adding in the accumulator tank the fresh water pump runs smother, quieter and less often. We will still add the expansion tank but we have not found one here yet.
The check valve installed, under the valve.
Accumulator tank in place and working. We will need to secure it better.
We had purchased our Islander Freeport 36ft sailboat when it was 30 years old from the original owner and replaced the water heater shortly after. Now last year it broke and we have replaced it again. The last time the waterheater did not have a check valve or accumulator tank on the water pump. So we did not know to add them, until now.
