PSS shaft seal, and shifter cable issues - 2024

Ok we were in the process of adding a new bilge pump sensor when we discovered our PSS shaft seal had spun where the vent hose is. It broke the hose barb on the PSS shaft seal also and the hose clamp.February 2024 - ⛵ Chip & Debbie 💑 Currently in Marina Costa Baja in La Paz, Mexico

In the process of working on that we discovered our shifter cable to the transmission is rusted badly and probably could break at any time!

There is a nice weather window for a few days to be on the hook so we were going to try...Bahia Falso was the spot we were looking at for a close quick few days of fun kayaking and paddleboard activity. There is a ramada on the beach. Guess it will have to wait. We called Cross Marine Works and had Carlos (not Marko Polo) Carlos come out for the PSS shaft seal repair, but the shifter cable will be something we will do ourselves and take us past the weather window. It will be good weather for boat repair and another window will come along (hopefully) for more fun activities.
Looking normal again, Carlos did a nice job. He replaced the plastic hose barb with a stainless steel one and put on two hose clamps.
Carlos working on the PSS shaft seal.
Looking good with the battery box and shelf out for access.
