PSS shaft seal was re-surfaced at machine shop - 2020

This forward part of the PSS Type A Shaft Seal was sent to the machine shop to get re-surfaced. The PSS Shaft Seal Maintenance Kit attaches to this forward part.

September 2020 - s\v Elegant'sea Is in the Opequimar boat yard in Puerto Vallarta
After being resurfaced.
These two parts fit together. The stainless steel (SS) part was resurfaced also.  The SS part holds the shaft seal in place.
Jorge is holding the two parts together after re-surfacing.
Old PSS Type A Shaft Seal that came out of our boat. It is still compressed. The forward part will be reused with the new part above. They are leaning on our 1 1\4 inch shaft.
The shaft back in our Islander Freeport 36' sailboat
but without the PSS Type A Shaft Seal for now.
Missing the couple side on the shaft. The shaft is just sitting in place to keep it off the ship yard ground.
It was difficult for Jorge to get the coupler off even with an impact wrench. We had kept the couple clean and painted so no rust would overtake it but I guess that did not matter! That's taking into consideration that we don't know how long it was untouched before we owned the boat as well as the twelve years we've owned the boat and never did anything to it - ain't broke, don't touch it!!
The coupler for the shaft got re-surfaced also.
