Rigger problems with the WSO 100 wind instrument - 2018

Our rigger, who we will not name here, flaked on us!

We had made a deal for him to:
Clean the rigging.
Inspect the rigging.
Tune the rigging
And install the lightning arrester and the WSO100 ultrasonic wind and weather station.
He has installed the WSO100 ultrasonic wind and weather station on another boat so he knows whats up.

September 2018- s\v Elegant'sea is currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
September 2018- We are now currently in Ajijic which is a town by Lake ChapalaMexico house sitting.

He had five months, in the slower time of the year, to do this at his leisure.

We had been sending money each month.

Now as fall has just begun, he said he is too busy, that he has raised his hourly rates (we already made a deal so what's this to do with us)  and does not think it is worth it for him to finish the job.

So far he has washed the rigging and tuned the rigging.

So because we are up in the mountains of Mexico and not near the boat, we will need to do this ourselves. That is, install the WSO 100 ultrasonic wind and weather station. Also the lightning arrester.

That meant researching the installation. The rigger told us that how I was going to install would not work. Well, we just got the info back from WSO 100 support and they say different.

"The WSO100 location chosen is very common I see no significant issue. The Tri-color may cause some eddies but since the mast head has a limited surface area you will need to use your best judgement for structural stability.

Here is a blog I found of a WSO100 installation that may be helpful to you:"

We are now looking at making our own bracket and taking it to the weld shop or making one that does not need welding. Our bracket will go up a 4-6 inches and out to the side of the mast 5-6 inches to avoid the eddies from the Tri-color.

The rigger said to fabricate a bracket to hold the WSO100 on the mast would cost way over $75.00 USD (our bottom line). I think we can come out with one for under $40.00 USD.

That means we will have to add this to our to-do list when we arrive back in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay.
We are ordering a NEMA 2000 cable from (Maretron Micro Double-Ended Cordset - .05 Meter from Amazon) and that may allow us to go straight up higher than the Aqua Signal Series 40 Navigation Lights(Tricolor) light, no jog to the right.
The Aqua Signal Series 40 Navigation Lights(Tricolor) light is about 5" high.
Plus the Aqua Signal Series 40 Navigation Lights(Tricolor) light mount shown above adds another say 3-4 inches. This makes the total height to overcome about 9". So for the WSO 100 ultrasonic wind and weather station to clear the tri-color it would go up say 10" on say SS 1" tubing and get mounted. Confusing?😕 It is easier than it sounds😀
The cable has been ordered.
