October 2018 - We are now currently in Chula Vista Norte which is a neighborhood in Lake Chapala, Mexico pet/house sitting.
It will be shipped to Texas where a fellow will drive it down for us here in Lake Chapala, Mexico where we will get it and drive it back to the boat when we leave the area.
We decided to purchase this because climbing up the mast on the folding steps takes a lot of energy. Getting up past the sail cover is the first hurdle then the spreaders is the next.
So why not have the Lewmar H3 Anchor Windlass with the rope drum take one of us up like an elevator!

Also, for work that takes a while or out on the rigging we need a chair.
It was a bit of a decision because we wanted to farm out this work more. Less of DIY projects. However this summer our rigger flaked and we will need to do some fabricating and top-of-the-mast work ourselves, when we get back. We just decided it was a good investment and we have the means to get it brought down to Mexico.
We also ordered from Downwind Marine 4 - 1"x12" sections of these bird spikes.
