EasyStart Wired to our Mermaid 12000 btu electrical box - 2018

Here we are out on the patio of our house sitting gig. First, we had to do some studying of both the Mermaid Marine Air 12000 btu electrical box wiring and the wiring of the EasyStart by Micro-Air.

October 2018 - s\v Elegant'sea is currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
October 2018 - We are now currently in Riberas(Riberas del Pilar) which is a neighborhood of Lake Chapala, Mexico pet/house sitting.
Both companies talk about some things but use different lingo to describe them. After cleaning up that lingo problem we were ready to start working on the wires one-by-one.
We have been studying this wiring for quite some time. Our latest attempt at getting this done was by an electrical engineer here in Ajijic but he had too many fires in the pan with moving here and looking for a rental etc, so we gave up on him. We decided to do this ourselves like most other boat projects😊
We first had to disconnect the "Start Cap" wires from the "Run Cap".
The "Start Cap" is to the right.

The top of the photo shows the wiring harness
to the Mermaid Marine Air 12000 btu HVAC unit.

Debbie is doing some more labeling of the wires.
Some connections we used thumb nuts because this is all temporary until we connect the electrical box and the Easy Start to the HVAC unit and run it. If it works we will make the wiring permanent.
We needed some wire strippers...I forgot to bring them.
We purchased these from AutoZone here in Ajijic .
Some connections are more permanent😅
This splice into the FX-1 Digital Comfort Control Thermostat wire which goes to the compressor "overload" or the Compressor "high temperature switch" according to which lingo? Anyway, we spliced in one of the EasyStart wires here.
The "Start Cap" got two wires from the EasyStart.
OK all done!
We will get a pass through for the metal case
and if this is correct, we will re-do this permanently.

We will add a Firewall Bushing to the electrical box cover later and re-route the wires so they come out the bottom if all goes well. Even if it does not go well, we will re-wire this and try again, if nothing blows😨
Ready for installation!!
We did not know at the time or perhaps Micro-Air came out with them after we purchased our new electrical box but they have a new PC board with the option of the Easy Start built in! FX-2 Control Board which works with our Mermaid Marine Air. Also Micro-Air came out with a new touch screen thermostat.
