Varnishing companion way - prep - teak paste - 2014

January 2014 - Currently in La Cruz anchorage in Banderas Bay Mexico (across the bay from Puerto Vallarta)

The first order of business was to fill the many holes left by the previous owner(PO). There were holes for some swivels like one for a loran and then some others as well. We decide not to use plugs as the holes were fairly small and we would need to drill them out bigger to put in plugs.
Five plugs in one small circle was a bit much.

. So we chose to make some teak filler. To do this we sanded up some spare teak we had and then mix in some varnish to make a paste.
We had to apply this past in two separate applications with a sanding in the middle.
The second paste we tried sawing some teak and used this for the larger holes.
I am not sure how this will look as they were a bit large, the teak saw dust. At any rate it will take some time to cure but we will go ahead and varnish over the holes as they look fine enough now.
