We are at the beach dinghy landing here in Zihuatanejo and are working on our Honda 9.9 hp outboard. We have had to fix this once before while here. The beach landing gets a lot of sand up into the cooling hose from the shorebreak.

You can see the hose takes a sharp bend there.
A more permanent fix would be to extend the hose and possibly file or drill out the hole a bit so the hose is not so compressed going through. This summer we will address this. For now we just unclog the hose of compressed sand and put it back together.
