This is the affected area of the heat exchanger that is preventing
the stack tube O-rings from sealing. It seems to be scored up too much.

We did this in June 2018- Currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico
We are now in July
2018- Currently in Ajijic which is a town
by Lake Chapala, Mexico house sitting.
After 6 1\2 years and about 832 hours on our Beta 38 diesel,
these bolts refuse to come out on the exhaust elbow.
these bolts refuse to come out on the exhaust elbow.
The heat exchanger is going off to the machine shop so that's where these bolts will be replaced. The good news is the exhaust elbow is in good shape.
The 2" exhoust hose to the water muffler is worn out. It will be replaced.
Nuts off the heat exchanger and it is ready to remove.
The heat exchanger is removed!
The gaskets are also still good and can be re-used.

This is the 5\8 heater hose to/from the accumulator tank to the valve to heat exchanger.
We are having Luis replace this with a new one and longer so I can re-position the valve. It is hard to get at when the heat exchanger is on the engine.
