We are currently cruising our Islander Freeport 36 sailboat in Mexico. We have been extensively documentating our Islander Freeport outfitting for this adventure. We will now be reporting what of our outfitng is of value, what works and what is not of value.
New Cockpit cup holders for replacement and two spares
We had ordered these in advance of coming to the US. We knew we would be here in a week or so and these were on sale. We purchased these at West Marine.
We need a couple to replace the two on our binical and these look a little stronger. I break them every once-in-a-while by hitting it with my butt. Then need to glue it and re-screw it in. They look bad now as they get filled with things that are around the cock pit. They also have been hit with every chemical we use on the boat. I did paint one and it looked better but still not good. So we got two spares.
Beginning of July 2017 - Tied up in Marina Mazatlán, Mexico We are currently house sitting in San Marcos, California (just North of San Diego).
And yet another part checked off the US purchasing list for the next cruising season.
