This is an older picture but it is the same element.
We purchased a new split element for our new hot water heater that we also purchased this last sumer. As we thought, we couldn't remove the old element from our current leaking water heater. We brought the water heater to La Paz by first crossing the us border with it through CBX and then when we got to the TJ airport we went to Volaris air freight and shipped it. It was $25.00 usd to air freight it. We then hoped on our flight and that's it! That's because Volaris would not accept it as baggage as they said they would. Anyway it was petty simple just not that easy at the time.
