Removed the Water Miser Battery Caps by Flow Systems USA.
We were told the caps never needed Maintenace. However, they do if the battery acid\water starts to bubble over or out of the holes in the caps.November 2023 - Chip & Debbie 💑 Currently in Marina Costa Baja in La Paz, MexicoThen you need to remove the cap and shake it. You should here the balls in the caps top rattle around. If not, they are clogged with dirt. We did have three extra caps. We shook them and shure enough they rattled. We took out the old caps and they did not rattle.
The fix is to soak them in a 10x1 mixture of Backing Soda and water. That is one part Backing Soda. We purchased Arm and Hammer Backing Soda and mixed it up. Let them soak over night. Then you rinse them by shooting water through the caps letting it come out the holes in the tops.
We have four batteries and we had three extra caps so, we put on the three caps and then the original caps that came with the batteries on the other three. Our batteries are about three and a half years old at this date.
We then tested these caps for a couple day to see if there was any bubble over.
I also re-greased up the electrical busses etc. with SuperLube Synthetic Grease.
Debbie washed out the caps and rinsed them and now they are draying. Some need a second go-arround. Now you can herar the balls inside the cap tops rattle.
After at least 24 hours and the LTH batteries have been topped off with battery water they are completely dry on top. They were charged to over 13.35 by our Blue Sky Energy inc Solar Boost 3024iL DUO charger. They sit overnight at the dock at 12.70 = 100 percent. All good.
