Up by the kayak you can see the dive tank.
We cleaned the bottom and I mean the way bottom. Not just the water line and an arm’s reach below. The Hookah hose and regulator the Hugh and Barb on m\v Aussie Made gave us along with the dive tank that Mike and Holly on s\v Wanuskewin gave us worked great. This we dd because we went sailing the next day, (anther post on that). I did use up the entire tank of air. This is because the bottom got really encrusted and we had it cleaned by a diver. We decided to start out fresh sort-of-speak with anew clean bottom. However the diver (which had to work hard) did not get the fossils parts off the hull and prop etc. this was a bit much to ask as encrusted as it was. We were at anchor over a month with no bottom cleaning. I was going to do it but is was a weather thing. Lots of swells from a storm were coming through for a while. We decided after coming back from Punta De Mita to go into the La Cruz Marina (Marina Riviera Nayarit) and have the bottom cleaned and untwist the anchor chain which we did. So I did get the new growth off the bottom and some white fossils and the grass etc off the prop and shaft and the bottom in general. I will need to go back back down and do a cleaning job on the prop. It will take a small scrapper and scratch pad and a little while. A nice clean bottom sure makes the boat go better :)
We just took a drive to the La Cruz tech college (Instituto Tecnolologico De Bahia De Banderas) and tried to get our tank filled. It cost about 60 pesos or about $5.50 USD. The problem and you know there is always going to be a problem :) is the tank needs a inside inspection. It is over due. So off to Puerto Vallarta we will need to go this next week to get that done.
