More Spectra water maker work done -guages - 2012

The Spectra water maker gauge and valve got installed. First we had decided on the location of under the sink.

October 2012 - Currently at Marina Kona Kai  Shelter Island San Diego, CA

The work flow:
1. Go to the settee end table by the stateroom and lift the little hatch.
2. Turn on the toggle switch mounted on the unit.
3. Go to the sink and open cabinet door, select sampling or into the water tank by changing the valve position.
If sampling then take a teas sample of water from the sink and if it pases then change valve position to tank.
Other wise just select water tank and it is off and tuning.
The round gauge tells you how much pressure so you can tell when to change the filter.
The flow gauge tells how many gal an hr of water are being made.
It is all out of sight but easy to get to.
At the Dailey Water Make store I went in the back and watched as the showed me how the set them up.
They have custom white metal box with the front being the door. It house the gauge and flow meter ect with more than one set some times and other items as the water make gets bugger (different models) but for our 36 sail boat we need to stash the in different easy to get at locations. We do not have a larger
The spot, under the sink in galley. The blue and black 150 psi hoses will be connected at various points and there will be one more blue hose run to the water tank for out put from the valve.

Started drilling holes and used the 1/2 drill with handle for the 4" hole saw.
We test mounted the valve and it lined up good.
OK ready for the fit of the gauges.
The back of the gauges.
We tried the gauge panel but it was too far forward and a good section of the big hole showed. Hmm, measured three time and cut one, must have not measured enough. So enough of being nice. We got out the saws all and went cutting to get the small stuff out of the way and were able to get the panel in without any space sowing around it.
OK now to install the valve and go around back and connect the dots.
This space is gotten too by the salon. We have a 1978 Islander Freeport and they made changes in later years which elimated this access.
Done with this for now. The one end on the valve will have a blue hose running to the water tank. We could split that off with another valve to select which 55 gal tank we want to put the new water in but we will use one taken for now and if we see there is a contamination problem with bad water contaminating both tanks we can then install a simple valve and another hose. The way we see it (the tanks are connected by valves) if the tanks become contaminated at some point we can just drain them into the bilge and start over. We can make 8 gal and hr on a good day. We will not be short of water.
Now on to the through hull raw water intake.
