The picture is the starboard side hinge looking into the aft lazerett. The hinge is the white threaded part. The pipe that goes through the hinge fits inside the white threaded part.

Our stern steps are now completely rebuilt. We had Chava put in new hinges for the pipe that runs through the bottom of the step. They looked like plastic through holes with a cap. They broke down after all these years of use and he put new similar items that are a bit beafier.
