We just talked to Marks Plastics about getting new windows.
Mark is currently doing the window on a friends boat - a Cal 34 - with the real dark tint. So we can check that tint soon.
Now all Freeports are not equal as we know each one is a snow flake as it is slightly different.
Ours has some kind of glass imbedded into the doors. The early Freeport’s had various types of doors.
Not all Freeports are exactly the same. Our companion way doors are glass and made into the doors. So we are not needing to replace them. Some had no glass in the doors all wood and some or most had plastic windows with white frames.
So for 10 Windows as we do not need the door windows the quote was:
Pull the curtain back… $2,800. Not bad at all. I was thinking for some reason it was much more so we were not going to proceed with the new windows as ours are in not all that bad a shape. That is with two Plexiglas windows in front. It includes the frames, inside and out (white is the only choice) and our own labor puts them in.
Now for the bad news. Mark is going into the hospital this week for bypass surgery. This means we got to wish him well. He will be back in action in a month or so.
We are strongly considering this with the ¼ safety glass tinted as we will be coastal cursing.
