Ipala anchoring waypoints and hidden rock - 2020

These are just approximately where you could anchor in Punta Ipala (aka Caleta Tehuamixtle. The actual waypoints are listed below. We do not believe you will have much luck getting in any closer for more protection. The bay has a lot of pangas and fish pens blocking it. This last time we did get a good night's sleep though. If we had another night or two, we would have ventured on-shore but weather was coming.

Bahia de Navidad to Tenacatita: shortcut waypoints - 2020

Bahia de Navidad to Tenacatita waypoints for a shortcut. This is not for the faint of heart and probably should be avoided in anything but calm seas (and high tide). Dan and Nancy on s\v Karvi gave us these waypoints and went through this short cut. Waypoints listed below. Blue flags indicate the route through the rocks.

Cockpit teak refurbishment etc -2020

We decided that after five months of anchoring it was time to really clean up the cockpit and do some teak varnishing etc. We spend a lot of time in the cockpit and it is a really nice comfortable space to be in..

Repainting bilge under our Beta 38hp - 2020.

Debbie is cleaning up the bilge area under our Beta 38 hp engine. We will, or rather, she will use some bilge paint to give it a new coat. We like to be able to see if there is any trouble in the engine room at a glance and a clean bilge really helps this.

Purchased a Hydrofoil for our Honda 9.9 hp outboard - 2020

We went to La Casa Del Pescador in Manzanillo. This is small chandlery with items that mainly crossover for both a power boat and sail boat. For instance, each uses zincs and thru-hulls, fishing rods and fenders, etc.

Stern steps and cockpit teak refurbishment started - 2020

Here I am doing the impossible feat of holding up the cockpit table and varnishing underneath😁
The Starboard unfolds so it is a bit heavy.

Cockpit teak refurbishment started - 2020

This is the helm Binnacle teak deck ring and the underside of the cockpit table. The underside of the table was never varnished and looked bad while at the helm and stern cockpit seats where you could see it.

Debbie is resewing our side window shade screens - 2020

Debbie is resewing our side window shade. It is the only shade we have that is 70 percent. Thes rest is 90 percent. We want to see out better so we are using the 70. It works ok in the winter but in the summer not so much. In the summer we cover the whole boat so the windows are shaded anyway.

"Lazy Jack" webbing and other fixes on our "Stack Pack" - 2020

We blew out a "Lazy Jack" strap on the passage to Zihuatanejo and had to "Jury Rig" the stack pack to keep it working. Also the stitching of the zipper was coming apart in places and some other places needed restitching. All done now by Debbie here in Barra, before we make our way back up north.

Varnish prep companionway doors - 2020

This is the port companionway door I am trying to remove varnish from. We have never varnished these doors since we owned the boat. So that is about twelve years. They do not get much sun but are looking old and the varnish is a bit dinged up.

Celebrating Taco Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo - 2020

Celebrating Taco Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo "in style" by splurging on lunch, delivered by the Grand Isla Navidad Resort Hotel Room Service...right to the boat!! Chip had the tacos de pescador (fish tacos) for the Taco Tuesday part

Did some rust prevention on our Mermaid HVAC 12000 btu unit - 2020

Since the compressor creates condensation, there is water at times dripping down onto the compressor feet etc. It eventually gets through the factory paint job and creates rust. We do not want to have problems with the compressor because of rusted-off feet or elsewhere.
