New garden hose

We bought a new garden hose and nozzle. We will return the nozzle. It has too much metal on it and will chip the gel coat if dropped, maybe. We were able to get the old nozzle off the old hose with two pipe wrenches and put a new gasket in it and it works fine. We also had to wire brush the threads and old them.

 The old red hose was guaranteed not to kink but would kink all the time anyway. This new hose is guaranteed not to link also :)

It is also made in the USA and is of recyclable materials etc.

50’ of 5/8 hose and we bought it at Lowes. I am thinking it is an every year thing, just get a new one once a year or so. We like to leave it strung out to the transom as it makes it easier to use. Also the dogs at the marina tend to pee on the hoses and who wants to unwind it from the dock box when the animals have been going to the bath room on it. The owners always yell at the dog (if they seem them) but really, if they cared at all they would have the dog on a leash. They just spew anger and loud noise from their mouth which adds to the unpleasantness. There, that’s my rant on the dog piss issue.

 The red hose was leaving red marks on the life lines and hull when getting dragged over the boat.

Our old hose broke trying to get the nozzle off it so we could hook it to our power washer and that’s what started this replace the hose thing.
