First tray at sanding off the blue paint on bottom of the Starboard Atlas Extra SUP - 2021

The sanding went better than expected. It will take a while to finish it tough. See the other video below also. In the video I said it was may but it is still April.

Time again to decommission the Achilles LSI-310E dinghy til next season - 2021

For the last several years we have been decommissioning the Achilles LSI-310E dinghy at the Marina Puerto de la Navidad (Barra Marina) . The dinghy will not be needed here in the marina or when traveling North.

White 30 amp 50' power chord washed and waxed - 2021

This 50' 30amp power chord we usually keep up on deck during the cruising season. It runs to our Honda EU2000i generator. Although we do not use the generator much (cleaning the bottom, rainy days) because we have plenty of solar it is still handy to have.

Scupper crak repair on port side in Tenacatita anchorage (Punta Chubasco) - 2021

This is a fairly big and deep crack. It has not been leaking (because I filled it with caulking a term fix) but it could start to.

We are the only boat left anchored in Tenacatita - 2021

Is it something we said? We came back from lunch at the Ramada where we played cards, ate lunch then took a beach walk when we discovered all the other boats are gone! We are the only boat left in the Tenacatita anchorage...for now.

Broke our Shurhold boat hook attachment again! using shackle and duck tape - 2021

We have been at anchor over 5 months now and twice our anchor shackle got a bit caught on the chain. So before bringing it up on the bow roller I free it up. Last time it all got caught up, I broke the Shurhold boat hook attachment trying. This time I thought I could be gentler, still broke the plastic boat hook. Wrong tool obviously! We use the boat hook to bring in the flopper stopper (Magma Rock N Roll Stabilizer) before leaving an anchorage, among other things. So we made a new one. Used a shackle and duck tape. Works to bring in the flopper stopper.

Dinghy ride, beach walk and lunch at Tenacatita anchorage - 2021

Yesterday we took a dinghy ride around the shoreline and point then back along "dog beach".  After that we went ashore. We had a nice long beach walk, then had lunch and played cards at the Ramada. Looking out over the anchorage and beautiful beach in lovely weather, we were thinking - is this not a dream of the way to enjoy life and we do this all the time!

Tried the surf break at Tenacatita (lagoon entrance, shallow, but fun) - 2021

The lagoon entrance that goes up by the Aquarium anchorage here in Tenacatita has a surf break. There is a sand bar and rocks on each side. It is shallow but can be fun at the right tide. I gave it a try with my paddle board. First time i ever surfed a paddle board!

Caulking touch up on the outside of the cap rail - 2021

While varnishing the caprail I spotted a few areas on the starboard side and one on the port side that need a touch up of caulking. So now before the rain starts we are doing the caulking. It was easy while I stood on the Starboard Atlas EXTRA Starlite paddle board and only took a couple of hours.

Anchored in Tenacatita again - 2021

77 deg in the cabin at sleep time. 74 deg in the morning at wake up time. We went swimming yesterday and the water temp was 79 deg but cooler by the feet.
On this day (13 April 2021) currently 9 boats with two being power boats.

We got here yesterday and went ashore for lunch, cards and beach walk. Then back to the boat for a swim about 5 pm or so. Another great day.

Barra to Tenacatita passage - Spring 2021

On our way to Tenacatita from Barra de Navidad. We were going to go to Cuastecomate but the weather is for 18 knots + winds there in the afternoon and worse each day for a few days so we opted for Tenacatita . We will be between the Aquarium, Tenacatita , La Manzanilla and Cuastecomate for the next couple of weeks. Yay!! to still being out cruising this season. The weather is still really nice! We have been on the hook now for almost five months continuously!

Some hatch caulking touch up - 2021

We did some caulking touch up on the stateroom hatch in a few spots. Debbie did the taping and I did the touch up. It has been ten years since Debbie and I refurbished them. They have held up well!

Finished off the last of the varnishing on the topsides - 2021

Finished off the last of the varnishing on the topsides. It was a good winter project. The boat is looking good if I do say so.

Debbie painted our forward alum chocks - 2021

Debbie painted our forward aluminum chocks  with gloss black Rust-Oleum paint. They match our Hella Marine running lights. Last time was eight years ago, wow!

Finished varnishing the cap rail! - 2021

Finished varnishing the cap rail! One more coat for the forward grab rails and the topside varnishing is done. I might start adding a coat or two to some cockpit items. Its a work of art lie coloring and fun!
April 2021 ⛵ currently anchored ⚓ in Barra de Navidad Lagoon🐠 Mexico 🇲🇽

Refilled one of our propane bottles - 2021

Danny and Deborah on s/v Cyclades gave us a ride to the propane refill and to some other places including DQ!
One of our propane bottles was empty and we are not sure how much is in the other. We had the one filled. Our regulator automatically switches to the one bottle if one is empty. We went four plus months without running out of propane.

Cleaning the bottom again in Tenacatita- March 2021

I had trouble with an air hose leak. Could not get enough air so I could only work for a few min and then come up for some gasping of air. Did get a new shaft zinc on and the prop cleaned. Got 85 percent of the bottom done before I had to quit. The day before I cleaned the water line and a bit below with the snorkel and fins etc. At the end of the video which I took before starting the bottom but after the snorkel cleaning you can see the rudder and some of the stern bottom that is clean versus what needs cleaning. Did not take any more videos or pics because I was too pooped. I did get the areas you see cleaned later. 29 days since I cleaned it last.
