May 2011 - Marina Cortez San Diego, CA
We now live on our boat as you must know by now if you have been around this blog much.
We and other Marina Cortez liveaboards go the Hilton Hotel to the small bar\restaurant and have some chow and socialize a bit.

We have started going at least once a week or so. The place has a nice homey looking and feel and we get discounts there. Makes it almost affordable 😟
Two live a boards fromour marina.
Big screen TV
This last Friday night we were there and the Red Sox and Yankee game was on. Of course the Red Sox won (our team).
There is a fire place and the people working there know us all. Now we do not drink (alcohol) but we can still hang out for a while and we have dinner etc. We have not used the free WiFi yet but plan too.
The empty bar with fish tanks behind it.
Sea Gull on the out side balcony.

It is just another part of the new live aboard life we have chosen. For example we use the park across the street for our front yard and yet it is never crowded. It so beautiful they have lots of outdoor weddings there. We do not need to take care of it just enjoy it. And like I said it is so beautiful people come from miles around just to sit there or get married there and we live here!
We at one time lived at Pacific Beach and in the winter we would go to the beach for a walk, just in fact walk to the beach for a walk J. Any way there would maybe be a few other people on the miles of beach, most likely no one on the beach at 7:00 PM in the winter, OK it is dark at that time of knight in the winter but still, the sound of the waves and you can still see as the city lights never let it truly get dark. It is so peaceful and beautiful! Millions of people live in San Diego yet no one on the beach! We had it all to ourselves, go figure hugh.
It is the same for the park on Harbor Island, unless it is the parade of lights or some other function there is hardly anyone around. Those are the times it is hardest to be there, when there is some function and crowded and yet that is when everyone wants to be there. Guess it all works out for us so we are not complaining.
