Patching the dingy

We had to patch our old beater LSI Achilles dingy because it was just leaking too much air.
The leak was close to a seam where another piece of the dingy was attached, by the transom. That of course complicated it.

We picked up a patch kit at the The Dingy Doctor and went to work.
Our dingy is made of Hypalon.

First Debbie and I used the heat gun to separate the Hypalon that was next to the hole so we could get a patch over it.

Cut off brushes and other tools :)

Proud owner of new patch kit.

Once we got the Hypalon section up out of the way we cleaned the are with Acid tone.

Then following the instructions, yes Debbie was watching so we followed the instructions. We applied the coats waiting the proper time and then the patch. Then we applied more glue so we could put the piece we lifted back down.

Then we pushed out any air.

Cleaned it up and now we need to wait 24 hours, dam!
