We got our hot water heater wired up.
We connected one to the power (black) post on the 30 amp breaker just after it comes into the boat as it comes out the bottom of the breaker and the same for the common (white) wire.
Seems to work out great.
Hot water heater wired up to non-inverter bus - 2012

We connected one to the power (black) post on the 30 amp breaker just after it comes into the boat as it comes out the bottom of the breaker and the same for the common (white) wire.
We then wired the power to a 20 amp breaker and then the breaker to
the hot water heater. The common from the Hot water heater to the common round
bus. The green to the green bus which is used for all AC ground.
Seems to work out great.
