Ya!! We have the EasyStart 364 working for our Mermaid 12000 btu HVAC! - 2019

Our Mermaid Marine Air 12000 btu electrical boxes. The new one on the right we have been using while we use the original to figure out the wiring and components.

The one on the right has a fuse built in with the red arrow pointing to it. Our original one we added a in-line blade 30 amp fuse ourselves plus a breaker.

As we have said before the EasyStart 364 allows us to run the Mermaid Marine Air 12000 btu HVAC on our Honda EU 2000i generator in echo mode. Which means the generator runs quiet and at low speed unless called on for some amps by the HVAC. Otherwise it runs at high speed and is noisy and harder on the generator, burns more gas etc.

January 2019 -We are currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by PuertoVallarta)
Here we have the original electrical box an we connected it
to the wiring harness we had painstakingly labeled each wire in.
Now that we can trace the wires in the box to the ones in the wiring harness - we found a mistake on our EasyStart 364 wiring. We had connected the black wire from the EasyStart 364 to the black wire to the "Reset Button" and not the black wire to the compressor.
So obviously we wired the black EasyStart 364 wire to the compressor which is the L1 terminal.

From  EasyStart 364 support:
" I reviewed the wiring and see the EasyStart black wire is connected to the freon switch and the freon switch is a line voltage switch in a mermaid system. HERE is a link to the mermaid wiring we have on our site for your reference.

First, remove the HP connection from the orange/brown connector and reconnect the two wires together on the connector.

Next, restore the connections to the switch as they were in your original diagram to the compressor “C” terminal and the FX-1 compressor L1 terminal. Please note that the contractor was replaced by the FX-1 in your system so comp L1 and comp L2 become the contactor terminals.

Finally, connect the EasyStart black wire to the comp L1 terminal (along with the high pressure switch lead you previously connected).
This should restore operation to the system."

Here you see the Easy Start 364  and the Mermaid Marine Air 12000 btu electrical boxe.
 Tools etc.
So obviously we wired the black wire correctly.
Here is our Mermaid Marine Air 12000 btu electrical box back in it's location. You can see the red wire is the 30 amp blade fuse holder. The breaker is to the left.
Our breaker for the Mermaid Marine Air 12000 btu electrical box.
Now all back together and working fine
and you would never know anything was going on๐Ÿ˜
Home sweet home on s\v Elegant'sea!
