Debbie is going to make a shade cover for this Bomar -Pompanette LLC Hatch hatch. This cover we will be able to use at anchor or at the dock to keep out the sun and at night the dew.
January 2019 -We are currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
We currently have the forward shade for at anchor and the dock that covers the head hatch and the stateroom hatch. All four of our hatches are large 20" x 20" hatches. Keeping out the sun is great. I can nap in the stateroom with a nice breeze coming in and no bright sun! Our boat stays cool and comfy. Only down side is at night laying in bed you can not see the stars, but I'll take the trade off. However, our salon does not have any shade cover for at anchor.
We do have a visor for the dodger and cockpit shade\breeze.
This shows the area to the right of the hatch
where the stays are and connection to forward shade.
The Starboard Whopper ASAP Paddle Board is tied
to the inside of the rail for a night passage.
This is the other area the cover will attach too.
It must be easy to deploy and put away or we will not use it.

This material we got from the Shadetree boat awning system that was over our boom. It was worn out and we are going to have a full boat cover made this summer. Debbie rescued the best part for this projectš
There is two attachment points to the front
of the dodger, with easy white clips.
Debbie sewed in pockets for some PVC pipe
to give the edges, bow and stern, shape.
This is freestanding and works with the boom in the middle or at the port side. Probably one or the other side but we have not tested it on the starboard side. We hardly ever have the boom on the starboard side.
We're using a sail tie to hold up the middle of the awning.
Awning in action!
The new awning, providing the shade we wanted!!
