Anchor rodes - bow spare anchor

Remembering that I am 64 and will be using this setup in 5-6 years from now at 70 years old I have to think that the rode needs to be the nicest we can make it. Easy to handle and flakes down nice etc.

We have moved this rode around a little looking for the end and it does not store easily, it is hard to pack into that spot.
So after exploring this stern windlass rode I am thinking the 5/16 three strand will not do any more for the second bow anchor. It is stiff and hard to flake especially on a rolling moving boat at the bow, though in some bad weather and it may be real hard getting it into the anchor locker. It is not compact either creating usage issues with the anchor windlass.
So we will be selling the 220’ of 3 strand 5/16 anchor rode we currently have.

We will pursue the 6 strand Nylon anchor rode and possibly by Sampson but another manufacturer may do as well. Let’s see how the stern rode works out and then we will make a final decision.
We have some line like this on our traveler. Although we do not like it on the traveler as it jams up in the blocks it is nice on the hand and coils up real nice. It is just too big for the blocks so we are replacing it. For an anchor line it would be great!
