Looking into the galley from the salon you do not see the converter
Another shot close still does not revel the converter.
creeping around
Still more and it is coming into sight but you need to lean over and look around
Not so pretty back there as the lazarett meets the inside of the boat. Lots of spaces to fill in with insulation and the under side of the deck is visible.
What it looked like before. There were some old refer wires coming through here. Will pasted some 3M4000 UV Marine Adhesive into the holes.
My hand holding it in place as Debbie put in a screw.
Wiring.
After we cut out the spaces for the thermostats we will remove all the tape and brown paper protection.
It is not an easy place to get at. Debbie had to hold
the unit in place from the cockpit reaching through the lazarett into the
galley so I could get some screws in. As it is I got it in a little crooked. We
will live with the crooked ness as it is too hard to re-mount. Now it is in
place and we will move to installing the Frigoboat compressor unit.
We were trying to
keep it out of sight as best we could yet have some access to the unit as it
has a fuse. We also wanted it to be in a dry place. We can access the fuse by
one screw on the bottom of the front and it requires just a little bending on
our part. Now to find out if it makes any noise or not, lets hope not. We may
yet need to re-locate it.
With this unit we can
run the refer off the 110 shore power whenever we are plugged in. We will not
be constantly cycling the batteries from charge to discharge to charge etc. We
will wire it to a switch so if we are on the hook and want to run the inverter
we can turn off the 110. Also the water heater will need to be off for the
inverter use. Sam goes with the generator; we can turn off 110 volt.
"Has inputs for 12/24v DC
plus 110/230v AC. Will use 110/230v AC power when available, then switch to DC
source when AC power disconnected. Provides DC power for compressor plus
full-time 12v feed for light, thermostat, fan etc. Remote mount with 6' power
cord and 110v plug, plus 4' DC power cable with slip-on connectors. Max power
150 watts. 5.5"w x 5.5"d x 2.5"h "
