Updated Features
The MATRIX AIS+ features have been updated to meet your demands:
BAUD RATE SELECTION:
The MATRIX AIS+ has a menu selection which allows the user to change the GPS input and DSC/AIS output baud rate. This change was made in response to requests from the market to resolves connection problems of certain plotters (RayMarine C Classic Series and Lowrance HDS 5 & 7) which only have one comport.
PA/Fog and AIS display
The MATRIX AIS+ can use the PA or Fog horn and use the AIS display at the same time.
GPS Status Display
If a chart plotter with GSA and GSV NMEA sentences is connected to the GX2150, the radios display can be set up to show a satellite numbers and related signal strengths.
AIS Compass Direction
GX2150 can be set to show AIS BRG to target in True or Magnetic
Four built-in receiversThe MATRIX AIS+ has 4 dedicated receivers to keep you aware of communications and vessels around you.
1 - General coverage receiver for marine VHF
1 - Channel 70 receiver for Digital Selective Calling
2 - AIS receivers to receive transmissions from Class A and B transponders
Dual Channel AIS Receiver Built-inThe MATRIX AIS+ GX2150 has a dual channel AIS receiver built-in which allows you to see AIS targets simply by connecting a GPS with NMEA 0183 output and a marine VHF antenna. To show show your vessels position in relation to AIS targets press the dedicated AIS key.
The AIS display is capable of showning MMSI, Call Sign, Ship Name, BRG, DST, SOG and COG of AIS targets. You may also contact an AIS Ship directly using Digital Selective Calling. Two alarms (CPA and TCPA) may be setup to alert you when an AIS ship may be approaching to close to your location. In addition the GX2150 can be connected to a compatible GPS chart plotter (which can use NMEA 0183 VDM sentence at 38400 baud) to show AIS targets.
Navigate to WaypointsThe MATRIX AIS+ is capable of entering and saving up to 100 waypoints. These waypoints may be selected and navigated to by using a unique navigation compass display that shows your vessels SOG, COG, BRG (Bearing) and DST (Distance) to the waypoint when connected to an external GPS.
30W PA and Fog signalling with Listen backThe MATRIX AIS+ includes a 30W Loud Hailer with Fog signals; Bells and Whistles with listenback. For added benefit, the last selected VHF channel can be heard when in the PA or Fog modes and the AIS Display may be accessed and used.
In addition, the MATRIX AIS+ allows you to start a fog horn and then view the AIS page simultaneously.
Big, bold display There is no question about it. With a big, bold display there is no mistaking the information. The contrast and brightness can be adjusted for situations where the radio cannot be mounted directly in front of you.
Programmable Scan, Priority Scan and Dual WatchScanning is not an issue with the MATRIX AIS+. The radio can be setup to scan any number of channels with or without a priority channel or simply can be setup to scan between a priority channel and one other channel (dual watch).
NOAA Weather channels and Weather Alert 10 NOAA and Canadian Weather channels are pre-programmed and easily selectable using the dedicated WX key. In addition, the MATRIX AIS+ can be set to monitor WX channels and provide an audible alert to inform of pending storm advisories.
Digital Selective Calling (DSC)The MATRISX AIS+ is an ITU Class D class DSC VHF with a separate Channel 70 receiver, which allows DSC calls to be received even when listening to traffic on Marine VHF channels.
The DSC DISTRESS function when activated transmits a digital MAYDAY including vessel identification, Latitude / Longitude and time (with GPS connected), to facilitate prompt response. Additional calls that can be made are Individual, All ship - Urgency and Safety, Group, Position report and position request calls.
RAM3 second station capable Need to remotely control a VHF from your cockpit of fly bridge? The MATRIX AIS+ is RAM3 remote mic capable to control all VHF and DSC functions at a second station. In addition, the MATRIX AIS+ can show AIS displays and vessel information when connected to a GPS.
