Some Garmin 740 Chart Plotter wires run - 2012

April 2012 - Marina Kona Kai Shelter Island San Diego, CA
Debbie took another trip into the lazarett

We taped the Garmin GPSMAP 740 chartplotter data wire (to NEMA 2000 network) to an old pod wire and the Chart plotter power (NMEA 0183 network cable) to an old pod wire. We had cut the 20' data wire in half as 10' sis way more than enough to connect to the NEMA 2000 network. That left one end we could snake through the 1" guard as it was only cable no end.
Under the binnacle.
Debbie pulled out the old pod wires out the bottom of the 1” stainless steel binnacle guard.

Then Debbie taped up the old wires just in case.
We did get the Garmin GPSMAP 740 chartplotter working for a brief time but our test leads crapped out on us. Now to repair them.
Wires coming out of binnacle guard.
Now another pile of wires to deal with.
We are still deciding on a wiring plan. Also we still need to run the radar cable up the binnacle or down the binnacle SS rail guard. I asked Debbie to pull the remaining old wire from the guard not realizing we had one more wire to snake through the guard. Guess we will need to find a way!
