We gave the Teak cockpit grate a coat of Teak Wonder - 2011

Ready for Teak Wonder
The teak cockpit grate is sitting on top of the emergency tiller access port. We talked to Owen about this but we must have been not communicating well as he said it was not. I think we were talking about different things. So we will need to address this again as it makes that part of the grate rocky.

JULY 2011 - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor IslandSan Diego, CA

Went to Downwind Marine and picked up a can of Teak Wonder..
First we washed the grate with McGuire's Boat Soap and a soft brush. Then let dry.
Still wet here.
We applied “Teak Wonder” to the cockpit grate. It is a sealer that dries and seals the teak. This way dirt and grime do not penetrate the wood turning it gray\black. It is not slippery and needs to be re-applied regularly which is a down side.
Teak Wonder suggests every 4-8 weeks or was it every 8-12 weeks. No matter that will never happen. It will get re-applied when it starts to look bad :)  Being in the cockpit it will not see a lot of sun though. Owen has it on his teak decks and it has been sitting in the sun for many months and still looks good. It does need to be re-applied though. On the other hand it is easy to apply with a throw-away brush. It does look good with varnished surfaces also. We applied this to both sides of the grate. In a day or so after letting it dry good we will apply another coat.
