This Mirage 5000 btu window AC unit is going to replace our broken dehumidifier.
We also purchased a timer so we can have the AC run every four hours for one hour to dehumidify the boat. The Mirage is made in Mexico!

We also will use it as a supplement to our two Mermaid Marine Air HVAC units we built into the boat. The issue with our built-in units is the sea strainers. We leave our boat in the marina that is in an estuary for hurricane season which means the water is not clean. It has a lot of leaves and other mulch in it which causes the Sherwood sea strainers to be cleaned more often. We haven't found anyone we can count on to clean them while we are away so we do not use the HVAC units to dehumidify. This unit will solve that problem. So it will do double duty - dehumidify when we are gone and when we are on the boat in the summer, we can use it to do the grunt work on keeping the boat cool. Our built in Mermaid Marine Air units will get a break and last longer.
