Debbie is making cardboard patterns for the "AC box" that will house the Mirage 5000 btu window AC unit over the hatch. This took several hours up on deck to make the emplete out of cardboard. It also started to get hot towards the end. We had to move our tools out of the sun so we could touch them. But we got it done.๐
April 2019 - We are currently anchored in Bahia de Navidad Lagoon, Mexico
We have a piece of plywood we use in the cockpit for bridging the gap in the "T" of the "T" cockpit for adding a cushion for sleeping. We used that to hold the AC unit over the hatc for a temporary measure.
Then we made the bottom of the template with a piece of the AC box. We put in a cut out for the air flow. We are using the adjustable sides that came with the AC unit and that helps make it a bit easier.
This is where the condensation comes out.
We still need to figure out a way to catch and release that water๐
Debbie cutting up more of the pieces to the box out of cardboard.
This piece is the air separator. It will keep the cold air coming out and the hot air going in from mixing
Nice day for it until early afternoon when the sun got hot. The nights have been cool and the days beautiful, not hot but sunny. We can tell the temperature is creeping up though.
It is Semana Santa which is a two week holiday and the locals are partying hard!

I did not get any pictures of the box made up of cardboard but will have some of the wood. We will bring the cardboard templates to "Pat's" shop in Colimilla and he will make them into pieces of wood. Then we will bring those back to the boat and fit them together and make any changes needed. Then back to Pat's etc.
We did get the template dropped off at "Pat's" shop .
