Caframo Sirocco II fans purchased - 2024

   Just purchased two Caframo Sirocco II fans for our Islander Freeport 36 B plan sailboat. We had four Caframo Bora fans but two of them broke over the years. Well three broke but one is still very functional.

   It is in the head, a white fan and turns on/off with a toggle switch but all three speeds still work. The other two, one in the stateroom and one in the salon both needed a toggle switch and only worked on one speed. Then the one in the salon broke off the bracket so we gave it to the fishermen in Agua Verde, in the Sea of Cortez when we were anchored there...it still was usable. We still have one other Bora fan in the stateroom over the bed which works like new. Anyway we decided on the Caframo Sirocco II style fans this time as we think they push more air and they have a timer function. Often I turn on the fan at bedtime and then, at say, one am wake up cold and need to get up and turn it off. The timer I can set to say three hours and it will shut off. These are mainly used when we are at anchor. At the dock we have Woozoo 110 volt fans we use. We can use these at anchor during the day on the inverter (pure sin wave) as the solar will easily keep the batteries at 100 percent, but at night...
We chose the color black as they blend in better for us except for in the head we chose white.

We have two Caframo Ultimate fans mounted in the cockpit, white ones and they are great for keeping cool. They are mounted up under the Bimini, we made a mounts out of starboard for the fans.
