New Sampson hurricane dock lines purchased - 2024

Our 5/8" hurricane lines are getting a bit old. We use them to tie up the boat during hurricane season, with stainless steel thimbles spliced on one end and 3/8" chain around the cleat on the dock.
August 2024 - ⛵ Chip & Debbie 💑 Currently in Marina Costa Baja in La Paz, Mexico (Currently housesitting in San Diego, SoCal)
The ones we have now are three strands so, we opted for double braid as it is stronger. We purchased three 25-foot lengths of 5/8" Sampson from Downwind Marine here in San Diego. Of course, we double them up with 25-foot double braided lines we purchased last year. The new Sampson lines we will have them spliced onto our current thimbles when we get back to Mexico. The 25-foot lengths will fit most slips we would end up in 35', 40' or even a bit larger. After all we are nomads!
