Outboard motor fuel tank gets plastic "welded" - 2020

It is like the Ocean Kayak Malibu Two that we did some modifications on and leak repair. We repaired the cracks and Debbie started making a cover this tank. It goes to our Honda 9.9 hp outboard. We also use it for an extended tank for our Honda EU2000i generator.

August 2020 - We are currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
One of the cracks on the tank.
First, I cut into the cracks. Then I used some of the plastic around the cut to fill the cut and smooth it over. There are videos on Youtube on how to do this type of repair.
Now I go over the crack moving surrounding plastic into the crack.
All done here! A bit ugly but it should seal the cracks.
Next, Debbie is making a cover for the outboard fuel tank.
She started by making a pattern out of 4 ml plastic sheeting.
Every year, all cruising season long the tank sits in the dinghy and it is in the sun. As long as the outboard is on the dinghy the tank sits there in the sun. Our friends Danny and Deborah on s\v Cyclades have their tank covered. We will now also.
Here's the pattern on the material we will use - a vinyl-type fabric we used in the past to connect the forward and aft Shade Tree system, which we no longer use.
